Medical
MTC Rugby has over 25 years of experience working with the medical community to develop and manufacture innovative products for use within a wide range of medical applications.
MTC Rugby have built a solid reputation amongst medical device manufacturers and professionals. Our world leading expertise and knowledge of high purity ceramic implants and ceramic-to-metal assemblies makes us the manufacturer of choice for a range of different medical applications.
MTC Rugby engineers have worked with many of the leading medical device manufacturers, using an expansive knowledge of advanced materials to develop and manufacture ceramic orthopaedic implants such as spinal discs, finger spheres, shoulder, head, genoid and hip joints. Such implants deliver high wear resistance, and when designed as a ceramic joint, eliminate metal particles released in the body and reduces the risk of osteoporosis and metal allergies.
Our engineers also design neurostimulation housings for cochlear implants, Vergus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) and Implantable Pulse Generators (IPG). These housings have a higher mechanical resistance than Titanium, are non-magnetic and transparent to radio frequencies allowing signals to pass through the wall with greater efficiency. All of our components manufactured for the medical community meet ISO 13485:2003 standards and our materials meet ISO 6474 and ISO 13385.
We design and develop ceramic-to-metal brazed assemblies for high voltage electromedical applications in partnership with our customers. These assemblies or feedthroughs offer high levels of electrical insulation and mechanical strength. In applications such as X-ray or mammography, cleanliness is essential to the quality of the image delivered by the equipment. Our state-of-the-art cleaning line has been designed to meet requirements of the electromedical community.
It is through our unique approach that utilises the skill set of our design engineers, applications engineers and material scientists that allows us to work closely with customers, helping them with product design improvements to meet and exceed their requirements increasing the reliability of the products. Our engineers work tirelessly throughout the design process, from the creation of prototypes to final testing phases.
