MTC Rugby has been manufacturing high purity ceramic implantable components for the medical community for 25 years at its ISO13485 (quality system for medical devices) registered plant.
MTC Rugby offers a unique flexible manufacturing process and approach to customer needs using a high purity Alumina matrix composite called Vitox™ AMC , Alumina HIP Vitox ™ , and high purity Zirconia based Zyranox™. All materials comply with international standards either ISO6474 Part 1 “Implants for Surgery -- Ceramic Materials Based on High Purity Alumina” or ISO 13356:2008 (E) “Implants for Surgery -- Ceramic Materials Based on Yttria-Stabilized Tetragonal Zirconia (Y-TZP)”

Typical applications are:
- Orthopaedic implants for example femoral heads, acetabular cups, glenoid and humeral cups, finger spheres, spinal discs
- Neurostimulation housings for neurological implants, e.g., cochlear implants, VNS housing
- Transient products, e.g., ablation blades, oncology tips
